What we Achieved

Selebi Phikwe National Marathon formerly known as Bosele Marathon, has been taking place in Selebi Phikwe since 1985 founded by the late Boet Kahts (MHSRIP) and Phill Roberts as a fun run.

To deliver an annual event of internationally recognized event and stimulate ownership of the marathon to the community of Selebi-Phikwe.

Community Engagement Strategy

Volunteers

The marathon is a community activity. It should bring the town together. Volunteering is one of the ways that will be used to engage the community to participate in the marathon.

Marathon Village Stalls

Stalls will be allocated to small businesses and other sponsors of the marathon. Stalls will be sold at rates affordable to the SMMEs conforming to the standards of the LOC and the main sponsor.

Cheerleading Teams

Various schools and youth centers will be requested to provide cheerleading squads which will be placed in different areas along the route.
